Salva

In my project Salva I took portraits of activists who are against animal exploitation. These activists grouped themselves under animal defense movements, like The animal save movement, the one I've mostly photographed. This movement operates globally and locally.
This series exposes what they call "vigils" from different cities of Buenos Aires, and also from London and Rome.
Salva is rather a series of photographs that reveals how I managed to observe (and therefore photograph) standing at a very precise intersection of my own point of view, a place that allows me to get involved enough with the cause I portray and the pain it causes to me too. This allows myself to have the sensitivity of question, but at the same time achieves a distance with the portrayed or with the photographed that makes my work take documentary character and becomes a tool for reporting or exhibiting what I believe.
You can buy the photobook of Salva from anywhere in the world. The texts inside were printed in Spanish, German, English and Italian.
En Argentina podes conseguirlo en @lulea.mothership (Mar del Plata) o escribiendome un mail a hola@martinavictoriaz.com.
